Vintage iPod Dock

Now that's a panel...
Retro Thing: The Coolest iPod Dock Ever

I don’t know about the coolest but it is certainly cooler then anything I have seen at Best Buy.  The secondary markets created by all of these products is just fascinating to me.  They build niches within niches.  I wonder if people stumble upon these ideas as they are going about their daily day or if they know they need to develop something to capitalize on the moment.

Would be an interesting study.  I mean we know that Belkin is an accessories manufacturer and they have a product plan in place knowing that things like this will be developed and that they need to move on it quickly.  I am just wondering what manufacturers actually get product plans from Apple in advance so they can plan for the next version of their device.

A season per post? Blogging is hard

East & Young – Reveal (Original mix)

How hard is it, with all of the things that happen to a person individually and at work, to come up with 250-500 words or so and slap a picture on the Internet? From what I can tell, difficult.  The statistics about how many blogs are created daily are staggering however, not many people after the first few posts consistently post stuff. I have a bunch of posts in draft however, I never finish them. I have a bunch of posts written in my Things task list but I never get around to them.
Crazily, I think that blogging is a lifestyle.  As is updating your facebook, twitter and other SM sites.  It takes work.

On that note, on a recent trip to SF, I went to a club named Vessel and heard this off the hook DJ. One of the songs he played that night is above and has kind of become this summers 2009 soundtrack for myself.

ABC3D – Thanks Duane

Duane,

Thanks for sending me one of the most unique books and one of the coolest Christmas presents I have ever received.

best,

Knowledge – A Dissertation on the Middle East conflict

via QBN

knowledge (subtitled version) from Axel Rudolph on Vimeo.
This dissertation is by Axel Rudolph. It is the most elegant (in my opinion) visual display of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict I have ever seen.  For a motion graphic piece I am inspired by it’s simplicity but how the story itself builds so much depth.  I honestly don’t know whether to applaud the design or the story more.  I think this shows how motion graphics can take a story with so many facets and draw you in.  The story itself is sad overall but takes you through the various stages of the conflict in such a way to be educational without being morbid.

It’s time for a name change

So after not posting for almost a month, I finally cracked it open and got in here. Some cool stuff that I am not at liberty to talk about just yet is happening with my life. Some cool things going on over at Netizen. It’s like I am in stealth mode just waiting to drop the bomb on everyone.

In the meantime, I will discuss the name change. Numero uno I started feeling it was a little bit wonky. Also, Dave Evans, my compadre over at Netizen told me it was cheesy.

So, where does the new name come from? For a while now an associate of mine has been introducing me to folks and describing them as “Genius. Wicked Smart. Creative wonder.”

At one point I had asked him with a laugh, “What do you say when you introduce me to folks?”
His answer, “He hustles.”

For a short bit this bothered me for some strange reason. Then I thought of how I grew up and although it wasn’t Bushwick, it wasn’t Kansas either. I ran with a reasonably tough crew that saved my arse on a number of occasions. Everyday there was one thing we all knew as cheesy as it sounds, “It’s all about the hustle.” Although, now it is a more ‘legit’ hustle….. it’s still hustle nonetheless.

So there it is…… the new name and I think it sticks.

Tweaking in progress
